A life long love affair I ought to compose about one day...
The greatest love affair of my life has been with classical piano: as a late starter, I never could attain the concert pianist level, never played a concerto with an orchestra, but I have given numerous solo recitals and I am often considered a decent pianist with extensive knowledge. Every penny I earned during my 20s went to purchasing my Yamaha C3 Grand Piano, but I have absolutely no regrets about it! I never grow tired of maintaining my tecnique, learning new music, improvising and listening to other pianists play. I taught the piano for many years, more than a decade, but decided that teaching takes too much toll on my own playing. I would thus rather not give one to one piano lessons that focuses on on a specific goal to pass graded exams, for instance. I would instead be happy to do courses, workshops and presentations on the piano: its historical development, techniques, repertoire and performance history from a stylistic and/or musicological viewpoint. Some examples of my favourite topics are how specific composers' music is performed throughout the history of the recorded era, or piano building innovations and techniques. If you can't get enough of learning this gorgeous instrument, I might be the correct person to top up your knowledge! Of course I could perform for you, analyze a piano work or create a piano video on demand... Let's talk!
