I studied music theory, composition and piano at Bilkent University in Ankara, following up with a Piano performance and pedagogy degree from The Netherlands on a NUFFIC scholarship. Going back to academia after working in Europe for six years, I completed my MA and PhD on musicology at Istanbul Technical University, Center for Advanced Studies in Music. After working on it for almost 8 years, I defended my thesis titled “Music Non-literate Virtuosi: The Autodidact Metal Musician” in 2019. Keeping up with academia as a member of ISMMS and IASPM, I attend conferences and was lucky to have some solid publications under my belt. I have extensive academic experience earned by teaching for 15 years at Sabancı University, Foundations Development Department and
Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Music Department: my courses are on classical music history, opera, introduction to music therapy and 20th Century music history. Besides all this, I have a performance career as a synthesizer artist, music producer, metal keyboardist and singer. A Roland local artist since 2014, I have participated in countless gigs and events in the last decade as a performer and band member. Aspiring to be a known figure in the audio world, I excel in product demonstrations, presentations and workshops. I have presented in many audio expos, shows and events such as the NAMM Show, Superbooth and IMSTA Festa. My favorite job ever was to work for Kv331 Audio Synthmaster as a beta tester for mobile products and video producer, which I devoted five years of my career.
